Hello all,

I'd heard a few stories about the length of time the CAA could take to issue a license once you'd passed your skills test. This is a frustrating time as whilst you can fly solo (via your instructor), you can't take the people who've encouraged you and supported you up as passengers ie your friends and family!

I appreciate that more checks are required by the CAA, so they can't simply allow you to proceed using your pass certificate (in a similar way to your driving test), but scare stories of 8-10 weeks were daunting.

I'm pleased to report that, having applied online, my treasured PPL licence arrived after only 8 days - Can't complain at that!

My advice then - use the online application method...seems to work just fine!

Good luck to everyone! I can also report that its both hugely enjoyable & very satisfying to take your first passenger aloft. Enjoy your flying.
