There are plenty of new training types. PS28 (we have one), Technam 2002 and 2008, and loads of others.
Trouble is they are over a hundred grand to buy or five 152s. My PS28 is leased as I couldn't afford a fleet of new ones.

Sorry for the delay following up - as a homebuild, the RV 7 can't be used as a trainer can it? Quite like the CAP 10 too.

I think the problem is that building an aircraft that can take a 40 year kicking from students is a *really* bad business plan.
