I know that the search facility on the forum is a bit hit and miss but this thread is still on the first page of the student forum:

To search the forums, use Google and append your search with (no quotes) "site:forums.flyer.co.uk". This gets over the 4 letter min meaning that you can search for VFR & IFR etc.
