Good Evening Everyone,

After 6 years with a three axis microlight my group is considering getting an ELA1. (EASA light aircraft)

I am trying to get an idea of maintenance costs before we plunge and despite (or because of?) much forum trawling and reading Part M I remain confused.

The question is whether an ELA1 not previously on a LAMP (I.e. it is brand new) can be maintained without employing a CAMO as administrative intermediary between owner and authorised engineer?

I am aware of the SDMP, but what I have read implies that this relates to aircraft previously on a LAMP rather than freshly minted.
