When I wanted to get a key cut for my old group PA28, I just went into a key cutters and asked them if they had said key. They did. :D

Getting a key for the security gate at Cardiff was a little bit more convoluted...

My external* garage key opens old Cessnas. And some Pipers (but not many). It also opens a surprising number of new modern windows with key locks.

My garage was built in the late 70's
:?:

* Mind you, I have a decent internal lock to my garage.

I recently had a new ignition switch and had to buy copies of the new key. I found that many of the small independent hardware stores have a wide range of key blanks - and may often have one to fit your a/c.

In my experience, chain stores such as Timpsons are less likely to have suitable blanks.
