There's a number of 8.33kHz radios that operate under the LA301075 CAA approval which effectively limits their approval to UK airspace.

Does anyone know of any 8.33kHz handhelds which are approved for use OUTSIDE UK airspace?

The Icom-France website https://www.icom-france.com/fr/catalogu ... tifs-1.php lists the A6E and A24E as for use on the ground only but the A6FRII and A6FRII as being CET ÉQUIPEMENT EST AGRÉÉ E/R PAR L'AVIATION CIVILE ET PEUT DONC FIGURER SUR LA LSA D'UN AÉRONEF FRANÇAIS which roughly translates as THIS EQUIPMENT IS APPROVED EITHER BY CIVIL AVIATION AND THEREFORE CAN BE APPEARED ON THE LSA OF A FRENCH AIRCRAFT. Maybe Icom UK can tell you what the practical differences are between these designations.

I'm getting confused by the terminology on a few threads on the subject.
KHZ or MHZ.
Both terms are used to describe frinstance 8.33 spacing.
Which is it?

Yep, so does mine, and kHz would give us a hell of a lot more freqs to play with.

But they are approved for UK airspace under the LA301075 CAA approval, as stated by the OP.

I seem to have my knickers in a twist, it is actually, according to the Yaesu manual, 118 MHz to 136 MHz in 8.33 kHz steps.

8.33MHz spacing would give you three channels if my maths is correct!
