Just looking at 8.33 radio options to replace the Bendix King EY97A 10W radio in an RV4.
Looking at the small format radios on the trig site, one has the option of 6W or 16W (TY91/92).
Instinct suggests that it is better to go higher power to avoid poor radio performance. However, I'm mindful that 6W may be perfectly adequate in a 160kt aircraft.
Any real world experience of the TY91 out there in a performance aircraft?
Similar question applies to transponders, which appear to come in 130 & 250W flavours. Any real world experience of Trig's TT21 transponder?
