In case it's of interest to anyone, I didn't fancy botching in a USB powered RS232 adapter so I've designed a couple of units that are fit to be installed in an aircraft. 5-35V protected input, BLE to RS232 out to your radio/autopilot and a RS232 input so you can still connect your efis as well as Skydemon. There's a webpage you can access over wifi to configure the port handling and update firmware in case the Skydemon bluetooth implementation changes or gets features added. It's in a machined aluminium case.

I've also packaged it to bolt directly onto the back of a Trig TC90 (TY91 radio control head). You then plug the original connector into the back of it, so this is totally plug and play for a Trig radio. It fits within the original outline dimensions of the Trig control head and has the same features as the other version, so you can connect your Trig radio to both Skydemon over bluetooth and still have it talk to your efis. If you already have your Efis connected to a Trig radio then it'll still be plug and play.

Both models have enough holes on them that you'll get good BT reception within the confines of a GA cockpit. You can get away with a lot when you're only transmitting 2-3 feet away :)

For now I've got a small run of 10 units of each version in production. Should have them finished in a couple weeks then I'll post here

There is also someone on the skydemon forum selling ready made adaptors for various radio models.
I'm DIY'ing one just for the fun of it. Nowhere near as neatly finished as the above solution but it'll keep me amused for a while.

I've acquired the KRT2 dongle from the SD forum source, and will report back once fitted and tested. It certainly looks like a professional bit of kit, which is what I wanted (not another PAW Classic-style box with wires poking out in all directions!!)

Any chance you could point me in the direction of the guy selling on the Skydemon forum, have looked and can`t seem to find it.
My bluetooth is working fine, but a mate has a Trig radio and is reluctant to start messing with wires, a plug and play unit would suit him

There’s a German chap selling some ones for Funke radios - the Trig one will be available shortly..
