Efficient and friendly airfield ideally placed East of the Rhine if crossing France-Germany between Strasbourg and Bale.

It is in Class F airspace, and so is simple to access. There was no IFR traffic either time we passed through, but even so it's unlikely that will cause any difficulties to the VFR flyer.

There is a self-service fuel pump, with idiosyncratic controls - get a proper brief from the tower before using! On the ground floor below the tower is an Internet equipped briefing room, including printing facilities.

There is a hotel on the airfield, which was full when we arrived so a reasoonably priced taxi into the town found us at a pleasant Gasthof close to a selection of bars and restaurants. The town itself is very picturesque, and as well as being in wine country boasts a brewery. Very quiet on Sundays and Bank Holidays, though.

Landing fee for Jodel/Grob 109/Super Dimona was €12.00 per aircraft on 3 Oct 2011.
