Flew in last week --first visit by air. There is a weBsite which gives fair amount of detail. Runways are grass 02/20 750 yds and 34/16 650 yds (i was given yds )
The airfield is being developed back to its original state as a first world war one field. A lot of work going on --obviously a big project but progressing.
You need PPR but usually ok to visit. It is situated 5 miles north of southend airport. 02/20 is favourite to land. AS SAID LOTS OF INFO ON WEBSITE--WORTH A VISIT. Phone numbers to call on website.

The place is an absolute gem. The restoration of the site has a way to go, but the standard of the work so far is first class, and the small museum is well put together.
