Didn't get any reply to this post so we decided to go and see for ourselves! St Brieuc is amazing. 2200 metres of runway and nothing happening except for a small amount of club and training traffic. They get about 2 "commercial" flights a month! The tower is manned some of the time, for the rest it's just join, make calls as usual, but beware, the locals speak French! We stayed 3 nights, and flew out each day to Quiberon, La Bouelle aand Isle D'eu. We parked at the aeroclub, came and went when we liked, and it cost us 33 Euros for 4 landings and parking. Didn't buy fule as we have large tanks and filled up at Jersey on the way.
Bit of distance from the town, (20Euros taxi) will try for a closer hotel next time,maybe in Plerin. Very hassle free, and recomended for a stay if you want to do a bit of touring in Brittany.
