Group flying opportunities & questions
Rare opportunity to purchase a share in the only privately owned SEP aircraft group at Bristol Airport.

G-BKBW is a 1982 Socata TB10 hangared on the business apron at the airport. Pilot must have circa 100hrs TT and 25 hrs P1.

Airframe Hours: 5145*
Engine Hours: 1051*
Prop Hours: 836*
*correct as at October 2019
2 x 50 hour checks have been completed since then so can add 100 or so hours to the above.

Group has accrued substantial engine replacement fund.

Ideal for touring, G-BKBW is powered by a Lycoming O-360-A1AD 180hp engine with a Hartzell variable pitch propellor which delivers 121 KTAS consuming 41 litres per hour; 5:15 endurance including 45min reserve. The aircraft is equipped and certified for IFR including GNSS LNAV approaches (with Jepp monthly IFR update subscription) so ideal for a holder of IMC/IR(R) or IR(A); A1B2C2D2O2S1. At Bristol airport NATS provides all the required navigational aids for an approach to system minima and 800m RVR (SP IR minima)

- Garmin GNS430W GNSS (fitted Sept 2020)
- Garmin G5 (fitted Sept 2020)
- Garmin GTX 328 Mode S transponder
- 2 x Altimeters
- Liferaft
- Lifejackets
- 4 headsets for passengers
- Emergency handheld radio
- VFR and IFR iPad chart subscription
- Autopilot (wing leveller)

The group has nine other members and has been established at Bristol for many years. It is a very well run group with monthly meetings, an AGM and written constitution. Availability for day trips and extended touring abroad is excellent. Booking is via internet booking system. Maintenance is completed by Ben Faulkner, Aerofab Ltd at Thruxton .

Great availability and can easily be taken away for longer trips and tours.

I can arrange an instructor to do a check out and/or VP familiarisation, you cover the aircraft costs.

Share Price: £2000
Monthly Fee: £170.00
Tacho Hour: £114.00 (based on Bristol fuel pricing so uplifting away from base can reduce this quite a lot)
Bristol airport landing fee for the group is substantially discounted and affordable.
PM me for details.

Just bumping this back to the top with a couple of additions:

A new Garmin G5 has been fitted to replace the original DI (it can also be used as backup AI).

A refurbished Garmin 430W has been fitted to replace the old 430 which now allows for LNAV/VNAV guidance.

Hourly rate for 2021 is £114/hour. All other prices/costs the same as before. Please get in touch for any further info!

Best regards,
