Lovely photographs (especially of the II+
) and brings back some great memories. The Mach Loop is a LOT smaller and involved quite a bit more twisting and turning but the great thing about Starwars Canyon is the fact that you can REALLY get down in the weeds/dust and nobody cares out in the desert
The real fun was doing a similar thing at night on goggles

May I ask how you take them? If I have ever tried to catch a close up of a moving object with a long lens I fail. And the delay between pressing and taking on digital cameras (ok maybe not so bad nowadays) makes it even worse.
The only way I can get anything in frame is to get it in the viewfinder at long distance, and then keep it in the viewfinder until it hopefully passes close by. I usually miss!
Are your images significantly cropped?

Hi Charles
Practice is the key thing and having a quick focusing lens, but yes many are cropped in but other times like today (I was in the loop this morning - will post those in a bit) I have to discard lots of images as they fill the frame and more, all depends what lens I am using.
