Can you give some details of where (exactly) to go - & where to look in advance for "activity" time tables etc? Have never been quite quite fancy a trip over there. TIA

The google link in the above post is a good site for information.
There is no best time, or published time table (no Mil flying at weekends), it is pretty much pot luck although low cloud will put a stop to play as the jets need to be able to fly VFR whilst doing 420 Kts at 500 feet.
Most locations involve a bit of a climb but nothing too arduous, wrap up well as it can get pretty cold. There are often large gaps in between anything flying through but the scenery is stunning so its a nice spot to while away the hours.

Went back over to the Mach Loop yesterday, love a swept Tornado. It will be a sad day when these go out of service next year
