I think that in his surreal phase in the mid seventies he changed his name to John Middle Wallop Lennon.

In the early Beatles days, John played a Rickenbacker guitar (a 3/4 size 360 ?). Adoplh Rickenbacker, co founder of the company, was related to Eddie Rickenbacker, WW1 fighter pilot.
