Went to the outdoor live relay of the Elbow/Halle gig in Manchester last night. Hadn't been able to get tickets for the Bridgewater Hall itself, so going to the live relay at Castlefield was the next best thing.
Had a wonderful time. Despite the p155 poor PA and the levels of chattering, it was obvious that this was much more than just a syrupy 'classic rock' type of orchestra-meets-band job.
I do hope they will be releasing a CD of the concert. Should be well worth the asking price.
