I've always considered Skin from Skunk Anansie to have a voice like treacle. It's all about personal tastes though.

Anything by Mariza, but again it's down to tastes - I rather like Portuguese Fado, but I could see how it wouldn't be to everyone's tastes.

[quo[quotessex boy']Rachel Fury doing 'Great Gig in the Sky' on Pink Floyd's tour in the late '80s/early '90s. [/quote]

I saw Pink Floyd on their Division Bell tour (awesome gig, by the way). Behind me was a family group and a couple of them insisted on singing along to everything. Mostly it irritated the f*** out of me, but I had to laugh when they even tried "The great gig in the sky". It seems it's not as easy to sing as you'd expect

I meant, of course, Anne Sofie Von Otter.

Ok, how about some jodella-style music (I won't be offended if you don't like it :) ):

Great band on the first one and a good arrangement but totally out of the vocal range of both performers dipping in and out of octaves when it got too much. That is a song with a massive range. One of the few Lloyd Webber songs I like.

Cheesy but Sinead O'Connor singing that Prince song, "Nothing compares" is a fine performance.

I was going to suggest some Nightwish. Have you seen them with their new singer yet, jodella?

I might also suggest some Iron Maiden. Perhaps 2 Minutes to Midnight.

Do you really think Bruce Dickinson could be described as giving an ultimate vocal performance apart from "This is the captian speaking....."?

"... brace, brace, brace." might be ultimate, I suppose.

Yes, I do think Bruce has an incredible voice.

He gave quite a good speech at the Marks & Spencers Business Aviators' do, actually

Nah, Katherine Jenkins for me. I like a nice, shapely Mezzo-Soprano (I married one).
