It Bites

Going to see them again this year too. Saw them last year with their new singer and thought they were pretty good.

Nice! Hadn't heard that one. Based on one snip on Spotify, I've ordered the CD.

Anyone else remember a quirky English band from the '70s called Stackridge?

I've been listening to their new 2009 Album - "A Victory for Common Sense" nearly all day.

Must remember to eat and other things but I'm so impressed with this music it's very difficult to move from where the music is playing. This is even better than all their nostalgic stuff from the '70s.

http://www.stackridge.net - and listen to Fatty Fudge's Lummy Days podcasts.

I'm a long time fan of the group and thought that they would never get back together for a new album, but this really is the business. Even my daughter - a uni student who likes groups like Muse and The Feeling (I like them too) is impressed with it.

There are brief extracts on Myspace (http://www.myspace.com/stackridge)

CD arrived: like it very much. I wonder why I'd never heard of it before.
Thank you for the hint!

Was listening to it till the boss said she wants to sleep.

It is attractive isn't it? I think it's not often performed because the balance of music between chorus and soloists is heavily skewed towards the soloists - so not ideal for amateur choirs. My choir will get round this to some extent by singing at least the quartet and quintet (and possibly the solos if I can persuade them to be sensitive enough).
