On Pprune, instead of threads being locked, they actually deal with the perpetrators.

They give the “offender” a holiday, so that the others can carry on.

Here, the thread is just locked/binned.

Then the offender can just carry on regardless till you **** the sub forum ?

That makes no sense.

When there are multiple offenders, and multiple chances, warnings etc have been given, that doesn't work.

It also assumes that Moderators' time is unlimited and comes without cost. Neither of those things are true.

Learnt a lot from the non-av forum over the years and it was about the only civilised place you could discuss society stuff. Not sure what changed in the world to make it less sociable unless it's that fewer of the particpants had actually met. Perhaps a ticket to non-Av can only be issued after a forum curry?

My 2p.

Non-aviation doesn't need more rules, nor does it need gate guardians ensuring a curry has been consumed.

What needs to happen is people need to respect the no politics rule, even when politics seems to be the answer. Truth is politics is never the answer unless the question was: "What's the second most likely thing to start an argument or war?"

Even though this forum is "media" it doesn't have to emulate the former mainstream media's obsession with virtue signalling from some posters. Actual thought through opinions or facts are much more use than ticking a box in the great virtue signalling box some folk like to wave about.

Equilibrium may well be reached now.
