Mary Ellis, ATA pilot

In the Heroes ('Heroine') section of the February 2018 issue, you omitted one of the rarest of her accomplishments. She was one of the few ATA pilots, of either sex, to fly the Meteor. That was, of course, when there were only single seater Marks, so for all the pilots their first jet flight was their first jet solo. For the ATA pilots it was just another page in the flip chart of Ferry Pilots' Notes. We have been delighted to welcome Mary at the Jet Age Museum.
