Yes, if I thought there was a significant risk of collision and I wasn't doing something more important (FIS is at the bottom of the priority pile).
My point would be that FIS is a supplemental service that may help you out. You cannot rely upon it helping you all of the time and, just because a previous controller may have called traffic under a similar scenario, you cannot assume you will always get the same level of service.
Tricky one really which is encapsulated by the fact that uncontrolled airspace (Class G) is a jungle and the VFR pilot must keep his/her eyes peeled regardless of service.
