I learnt to fly fxed wing in a C152 Aerobat that had two roof lights. Very useful for an overhead check.
The accident involving G-AVNV and G-AVNS was not fatal. It occurred over the Isle of Wight when the prop of NV sliced through NS's rudder.
I'm not sure which prompted the mod with the roof windows.
The Hamble mod is the only one I have encountered anywhere in the world.
Piper must have signed it off with the CAA?
