This might interest you. A friend of mine a GP, gave me in response to my questions re hypertension, some drug manufacturers promotional leaflets one of which contained the advice that a reduction in blood pressure could be obtained by losing weight which could be equal to a reduction gained by taking medication.

ok so nil desperandum at the moment - overall levels not an immediate concern so Doc will check again once more weight lost.
