I’m finding more and more that anything that XR and Insulate Britain oppose / want to disrupt, I’m supporting!

It’s just the way it’s falling… so I don’t mind if they shut all airspace for the whole day for the fly past now!

In fact.. I think they should fly around the whole country in formation all day!

Apologies for coming late to this rather 'Southern' thread but I don't recall Scotland being closed. Parts of it perhaps but not the entire country.

It’s not the first time GA has been stopped for days, weeks months or even years.

WW2, no GA for years on end, not that it affected many here now.

But in turn, the Fuel Crisis in 1973. GA and Gliding (except winch launches) stopped for months.

Every year 60’s 70’s 80’s onwards Multiple Air Shows. Farnborough and numerous Battle of Britain Airshows plus ordinary ones. All with restricted airspace. Few and far between nowadays.

2020’s. Covid. GA stopped for months on end.

So what’s with 45 minutes? Agree with Previous poster it should be ALL day and ALL around the Uk.

So what actually happened? The AIC appears to have been cancelled by NOTAM and an ‘AIS Briefing Sheet’ published with a very different airspace?

Obviously the planners read the Flyer Forum and were so impressed by the reasonable arguments in this thread that they had a rethink...

I hope this NOTAM doesnt mean the actula time of the restrictions will be extended to 22/06/02 17:00??

Which NOTAM has cancelled it? There is a cancellation NOTAM B1175/22 for the 26-28 May ones but not for the actual event itself in June

It needs to be read for what it is. If you are going to fly in the area specified in para 8 of the AIC in accordance with the exceptions in sub para 8.D.ii then you need in addition to contact one of these telephone numbers.

There was 2 AIC.
As mentioned the rehearsal AIC has been cancelled and replaced by a "briefing sheet"

The AIC for the 2nd of June still stands.

The rehearsal was only notified on one of 3 days and as they managed to get it right first time, the other two days were cancelled as were NOTAMs and AIC.

Just don’t be early…… Or have a GMT/Local mix up!

I've done a Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace; does that count?

AlanM wrote:No. I blackballed your own OBE citation.

(PS hasn’t everyone been to one of those?)

People at LACC or LTCC probably get the invitations but I never heard of anyone at Farnborough getting one; mine was awarded for my service as a Commisioned Officer in the Air Cadets rather than through NATS.
