All sound arguments in favour of it, although I'm not sure what an equivalent date in the UK might be? Christmas is probably our nearest.

(Although I personally try to be sensitive of the fact that historically, it also marks the start point of mass extermination of Native Americans - hence why many tribes treat it as a day of mourning).

And black friday does rather mirror how the UK used to treat boxing day, commercially.

Perhaps a tad off 'Black Friday', but picking up on your comment about 'Thanksgiving', I think our American cousins deserve some credit for the way they celebrate Thanksgiving.


We had a traditional Thanksgiving. We went to our neighbour's house, killed them and ate their food. :thumright:
