I would add just a minor one on the logistics of keeping valid papers & ratings current for domestic flying while living abroad flying other regs, it’s not an easy walk in the park, even when someone is back briefly to UK, time rarely allow to go and bang things in schools or finding instructors on short notice, of course not an issue if flying with another member (tricky when your share is a single seat vintage :lol: )

PS: some registrations may allow flexible domestic/overseas flying, N-reg & FAA…
