Primarily for general aviation discussion, but other aviation topics are also welcome.

And GA at Kingsmuir, Leuchars, Kirknewton, Thornhill, Strathallan, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Prestwick!

Also several private strips.

And looks like the circuits of Dundee, Kilkerran and particularly Strathaven will be affected.

“The Civil Aviation Authority and Police Scotland said they would begin at 23:59 on 30 of October and end at 23:59 on 13 November "to help protect the safety of the public, people attending the COP26 event and, the aviation community".

Interesting that general aviation is being protected by being grounded.

Protected against being shot down by CIA, FBI, Secret Service, US Special Forces, armed drones being flown by pilots in Washington, etc etc.

It would be very interesting to anonymously launch a reasonably large and fast drone just as "Geriatric Joe" was arriving. No malicious intent of course, just an experiment to test the responses!

Note to MI5, It is of course just an idle thought, whilst waiting for the kettle to boil, armed response not required!

Apart from restricted circles down to the surface around Leuchars, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Prestwick & Cumbernauld Airports, plus round Gleneagles Hotel, Cameron House Hotel (I think) and the actual conference centre in Glasgow, it seems that the rest (Area A) only starts at 400ft AGL. This will make it almost impossible for GA to fly and comply with the 500ft rule but would allow drones to fly up to 400gt AGL as long as they comply with the Drone Code.

If this interpretation correct, why are drones being favoured in this way?

This may be a silly question but how do you find it on the new NATS AIS website as I can't see it on the existing Mauve list:

https://nats-uk.ead-it.com/cms-nats/opencms/en/Publications/Aeronautical-Information-Circulars-AICs/mauve-aics/

I've even tried modifying one of the URLs to include the reference to no avail. :D
