When I was discussing sims with my FI he said "the trouble with sims is that its impossible to do dead reckoning" He changed his opinion when he saw the MSFS screenshots.
Its still not perfect, but the new MS sim is head and shoulders above anything I have used before, though there is a small block of flats on the end of Old Buckenham's runway that i'm pretty sure shouldn't be there!

In the days before GPS I used to use old MSFS with terrain add-ons to get an idea of the expected appearance of hills etc on long trips - very handy on first trip to Scotland. Less good for towns and roads though - not tried the new one - simulator went into the loft after we got the Breezer.

Nice. Any idea why they built it? Better view of the runways, obviously, but I wonder what changed to prompt them to need it?
