Hi, we are happy to accept GA for approaches at RAF Wittering and will currently waive charges other than a small Insurance Indemnity charge. You must have an MOD waiver or appropriate insurance. We are Crash Cat 2 and unfortunately cannot offer fuel. If you would like to book then please call Wittering Ops on 01780 417050.

OK to be precise then:

As well as (presumably) VFR approaches, what other approaches are available at RAF Wittering?

Can you offer SRA/ILS/Localiser/other instrument approaches?

Sounds like a fantastic initiative: Thank you very much for this..

Indeed, a great initiative :thumleft:

The list of IAPs is in Mil AiP link, I guess PAR/SAR only? or is there an ILS/LOC?

PAR/SAR are fine untill one can't find his IFR plates (for minima when scrolling SkyDemon or JeppFD in flight, you need paper prints from AIP before departure  ) but GTN show Visual Approaches in selection which comes handy for situational awarness

I see on the plate that Wittering APP's initial call frequency is missing a VHF frequency?

There's also an extra "Zone" frequency on top of the standard GND, APP, TWR frequencies.

Most civilian SEPs won't have D.ATIS receivers so we won't be able to get those details upfront.

We can offer SRA or PAR approaches, we don't have an ILS I'm afraid.

Indeed the VHF freq for ATC-PIC approach is not on the plates but it's shown on AD AIP text as 135.200, another surprise for you
