Primarily for general aviation discussion, but other aviation topics are also welcome.

Weybourne for the Muckleburgh Collection (tanks and stuff, not aviation). Pub in village.
(Edit to add - crossed with @Rob L )
Elvington definitely tops though if you've yet to visit. It's really good.

Code: Select all*Rumour has it that Thorpe Abbots (See 100th BG, The Bloody Hundredth, Masters Of The Air) which has an excellent tower museum do give permission to land on the remaining length of concrete - 800m, looks about 10m wide on Google Earth, E/W orientation.

Not a rumour. I have done it albeit in a helicopter. However I know for a fact that you can get permission to go in there in fixed wing as I have seen the book that they record arrivals in. Just phone the Museum and ask them - the guy who arranges it is an active PPL himself.

St Athan. Loads of airliners to taxi through also, plus the amazing collection in the Horizon hangar. 3 different 'sets', one visit, £15 landing, pub down road.

Ah, thank you, I forgot that, which has been on my "must visit" list for years. I think that's No.1 on my list now.

Anybody know the present position about Yeovilton?

If time whilst up north, you could fit in Newark Air Museum.

Not quite fly in admittedly, but it is only a short hop by road from my strip.
