Yes the prop is a significant factor and when needs must pullling it back to flight idle has a dramatic effect but many pilots are reluctant to do so!
What is also interesting and not been especially mentioned is I think in this case the pilot was on the outside radius of the turn. This gave him the preferred visibility until he started the turn but then he would have lost visibility and there would be more of a tendency to move the eyes into the turn.
