Thanks everyone for the great answers and advice. One final question from me then is in terms of license, what is your recommendation? I think LAPL Vs. PPL is a bit of a false economy and you end up doing about the same training... TMG rating with PPL later Vs. PPL from the start seems not that clear cut... To me, the advantage of the TMG rating is the ability to fly solo and with passengers earlier but not sure that's a correct view.

Any advice?
