Thank you so much for the detailed insight and guidance, it is greatly appreciated! So it seems the aircraft has an issue with propeller position relative to TDC and also the Leburg ignition set up (apparently sorted now!). Going to have another look on Friday so will see if these issues can be addressed and that we can actually start it this time!

I owned a VW powered Tipsy Nipper for many years. Like most aeroplanes it talked to me very quietly (so easy to ignore). After a few years I learned to hear and after a few more years I started to understand what I was being told and act appropriately.

One lesson I remember was that the correct setup of the fuel system (pump and carb) was at least as important as the ignition...
