If the content of this thread was aimed at a nation somewhere other than Britain, particularly if the residents had a different skin colour, the PC types would be all over it. I'm not Welsh, not even British, but I've lived and worked in Wales for more than 30 years and love it, and the vast majority of it's inhabitants. A language is the key to a nation's culture. It's not polite to sneer at it.

I feel a little bit more respect might be seemly.

I hate online emotive arguments, so this is my last contribution to this thread. Leia has made lots of excellent contributions here. Why not be nice to her?
