This shows how better organised an opposition is compared to GA/representation which hasn't even started putting forward an idea for better overnight parking for lighter aircraft at this airport.

So you are suggesting that GA needs an organisation to represent it and to take up fights such as this one and making the suggestions you put forward to improve facilities for GA at this (and other) airports.

As has been said so many times before, we already have the alphabeti spaghetti list of GA organisations that represent GA to the likes of the CAA but don't seem to do anything. Like AOPA, they are now part of the establishment they exist to challenge so don't we need to ditch them and start again?

I'm suggesting that many in GA remain indifferent about certain things such that infrastructure has been and still remains is at risk of disappearing right in front of them, yet not enough people are bothered or resourced enough to do much about it.

(Some of the few who are bothered, do work tirelessly - so thank you)

There are probably many reasons why people in GA don't get involved. Indifference may be one reason but not the only one, IMHO.
I would venture that flying is the reason that most people get involved in GA.
The reason people get involved in protesting is to protest.
The day we put protesting above flying, we are doomed as well.
It is a difficult problem but not a simple one and, I would suggest, one AOPA and GA does not solve by relying on good people like you doing their work for free.
Yes, thank you James.

Opponents haven't given up:

Campaigners want to appeal the ruling. ..'

Isn't it something like 160 odd meters they want? I just don't get the problem. There are physical constraints to being much bigger than they are so Southampton is never going to be Heathrow. And Covid has killed half their business and Turboprop are more irritating noise wise than jets anyway.
