This consultation appears to be paving the way, in part, for the introduction later this year of a change to Airworthiness Requirement which will allow aircraft called microlights to be certified to a MTOM of 600kg.

I have to declare an interest in this move as I'm advising the Czech manufacturer JMB on the "cultural" aspects of dealing with our regulator.

According to the Sting website (https://stingaircraft.co.uk/) they have beaten you to it

although I'm entirely unsure how they have managed to get approval to a set of requirements that does not yet exist!

Having had a quick look at the consultation documents, I can’t see anything that jumps out as being specifically related to the issue of microlights with MTOW of 600kg or a change required for that MTOW increase.

Could you point me to the relevant sections please?
