For the first time in over a year was having to try and get a word in on the airwaves. Great stuff :thumleft:

I too went flying on Tuesday.
First flight of the year for me and for Nellie the Warrior.
So a careful inspection, prestart priming by hand and the engine fired right up.
Ground run, okay.

Taxy over to the pumps and put fresh Avgas in the tanks.

Take off normal; power, pressure, temperature.
Follow another PA28 on the Motorway Junction departure

Head west north west, do some steep turns, try a few stalls.
Circle Polesden Lacey, lots of people out there, car park full.
I actually talked to Farnborough. Only near traffic was a Cessna 210 out of Fairoaks.
Fly over Guildford, spot next door sunbathing.

Back along the ridge past Dorking... Turn the radio volume down to listen to the ATIS on box one... Forget to turn the volume up on the tower frequency box two.
My only momentary mistake...

Aim for three landings...
First was good, second aimed to be flapless glide, but ended up a little high, had to apply flaps.
So I’ll do another flapless approach and get it right... I did.
Normal fourth landing, and taxy in.
1.10 hours start to stop.
Pay for it!

Happy to be back in the air even with a training wheel on the front.

(Edit: correction of my awful American style spelling, I do apologise most profusely.)

1 more thing,..

while lined up I pre briefed to myself how the take off roll was going to go and what I was going to check, before I applied the power.

Applied the power, and it all seemed to come at me very fast.

First time in years the ‘plane was ready to fly before I was.

i.e. she was eager to get off the ground while I was still calling out things to check!

Forgot how eager she is to fly with only 1 POB.

In the Forth, should not that have been 'alighting' ?

I alight in a seaplane.
Sometimes, I taxy on the water, and land on the shore.

After landing, taxy in, and engine stop, Master Switch off; I alight from the Piper Warrior.

I firthantly deny ending up "In the Forth", that wouldn't be alighting, though I could have landed on the bottom I s'pose.
I’ve corrected that naughty spelling mistake.

So, just as the UK opens up, France locks down. :(

In theory, if previous laws (not guidance here) are adhered to, Im 10km from my aerodrome so I can go flying within a 10 km radius of my house... 8)

Went flying today, and will do so in a friends aeroplane tomorrow too just in case someone decides to outlaw flying for fun... in the meantime a poor pic (sorry) taken over the Medoc of the Gironde today :

Went up for another flight this evening with Captain Bubble @Rob L

Nice smooth conditions and could have flown hands off if we’d wanted. Fingers crossed for some decent weather next week

I'm glad you did, Spooky. Life is too short :cheese:

For reasons unbeknown to me, the "@" usermention thingimmygig doesn't work, so I don't see any notifications of a "usermention". I only came across your reply due to chance.

Take care, love your loved ones and fly safe! :D
