Bob..... Bob, did you turn the batteries off ?

Yea - you said the insurers wouldn't pay....

The candle in the margarine tub of diesel took some lighting though........ :thumleft:

(the preferred method for the Leeds Tailors makeovers in the 70's)

That looks unlikely to me. It’s pretty clear the fire’s origin is in the ceiling of First. Right above where they’ve been chopping windows out of the fuselage. (to flog for £250 a pop.) What a coincidence!

Was there something that made you think it wasn’t?

This aircraft is/was 26 years old. (1994)

Swissair 111 (1998) is an extremely interesting incident to read about. Not least because (IIRC?) it is fairly likely there were no crew on the flight deck, for some minutes prior to the final moments, as the environment in there was almost certainly unsurvivable.

Tragic food for thought.

Which Google Translate renders as:
The fire has been considered extinguished, as reported by 112 on its Twitter account. As explained by the provincial deputy for Fire Brigades, Abel Ibáñez, the fire started when airport operators were working on the plane, and it is believed, in principle, that it could have occurred after cutting a oxygen pipe and catch fire, although the causes are being investigated.

So not definitive either way, it seems.
