Like all business in the world during these difficult times Aviation Park Group Ltd are trying to strike a balance between following the law and allowing our customers the freedoms they are entitled to.

With this in mind, Aviation Park Group will operate under the instruction of the Welsh Government. These instructions are issued to the airport authority and passed down to Aviation Park Group.

The advice passed down is as follows:

“Hawarden Airport remains open, because it is a transport hub and it is a legitimate pass through location for people. However, if someone is in a local lockdown then a holiday is not a legitimate reason for travel, so holidaymakers from local lockdown areas should not be using the airport to fly.

People travelling for work, or those not in local lockdown or those with another legitimate reason for travel can continue to use the airport.

Therefore, Hawarden Airport can remain open and continue to accept flights providing there is a legitimate reason for travel i.e. People travelling for work or those not in local lockdown or those with another legitimate reason for travel can continue to use the airport"

We as a company are not issuing any policy/ advice blocking anyone from accessing Apron November however the individual is responsible for themselves and answering to law enforcement (any enforcement agency) as to their justification for being onsite at the airport if questioned.

Critical/ essential maintenance of an aircraft (which would otherwise mean it became potentially unserviceable) would for me be a sufficient justification to come onto site. Please also note that the airport is not issuing a NOTAM for this due to the diversity of scenarios that could come about.
