According to this article

Not sure it means what I’d like it to mean though...

With the attitude of that lot I wouldn't land there if my engine was on fire.

So following 9 months of closure, that sounds promising. What has changed?

Are there any new laws in place to safeguard movements and FBOs, or does it still depend on which side of the bed the owner wakes up? :D

Reads to me like a PR company involved "Companies emerging from lockdown ...." Really!

Wasn’t there a notam recently saying that the ATZ has been permanently disestablished? Or was that somewhere else?

(Not that removing ATZs is a bad thing anyway.)

I don't see anything in the article or elsewhere to suggest that it's open as an airfield in the sense that we would understand...

If I can't fly in there like I used to, I couldn't care less what they do with now. I certainly won't be driving there anytime soon as one of the "visitors".

Well, the report says "the airfield says it is also receiving increasing interest from a number of businesses wishing to relocate to the airfield for flight operations" so I'm sure that means they want people to fly there. It also says that GoSkyDive are back operating, but there's no mention of the earlier issues when they closed.

It's a nice airfield and I would go there occasionally, but the website clearly says "Old Sarum Airfield is now closed to ALL movements". :?: :?:

There is a current NOTAM which says "Reinstate EGLS.... UK AIP Gen 2.4 refer" but that just seems to restore the EGLS indicator.

It could mean 'we are hoping to carry out our promise (threat?) to make the airfield as commercially busy as possible. night and day, as compensation for the lack of income following the planning refusal, and if the locals complain, it's their fault for not supporting, or objecting to, the planning proposal'.

This story again mentions visitors from the UK and abroad and confirms training flights restarting:

Flying last week, i heard London Information warn a pilot about parachuting at Old Sarum.

*Parachuting* is one thing - they had a contractual obligation to to the jumping company to continue that for a year or two, it is "normal" GA activity that they shut down completely and it is not clear what their intentions genuinely are for that.

Some of the arguments apparently used by the airfield owners in their appeal, according to that news report, are simply mind-boggling. How anyone can be that stupid as to spend the money involved in ending up in the High Court and be making arguments like that, it defies belief.
