Can anyone recommend airfields in the south of the UK that either allow overnight camping or are very near (walkable) decent campsites?

Need about 600m runway.

Many thanks

Perranporth and Bolt Head both have campsites within walking distance.. Cromer you can camp under the wing, same at Skegness ( I know its not " South " except to the great Unwashed ! )

Perranporth Airfield (N Cornish coast)'s fantastic, with Blue Hills Campsite (Google it)the other side of the perimeter fence. Blue Hills owner will come and get you in his car.

Fantastic cliff top walks: to St Agnes (great pubs/restau)=shortish walk.

Or into Perranporth town itself. Longer in opp direction but fab beach well worth it.

Just come back from Branscombe Farm, a few miles east of Exeter on the Jurassic Coast. Lovely place, campsite with attached airstrip (650m grass). Ten minutes to the pub; Chinese and Injun deliver to the field. Covid protections in place and ready to open next week.

Thanks everyone.
Flew to Sandown on Saturnday, Branscombe Sunday and home yesterday. Great trip.
Saturday was great with loads of overnight campers.
Branscombe is a very nice campsite with very clean and modern facilities. Nice part of the world. 600/700m well kept grass strip. (PPR and briefing very essential).

Thanks!
