Already had the email from Ed, you can be sure I'll carry on subscribing, good to see a creative response to trying times. :thumleft:

I had asked about just receiving digital copies and was told (several weeks ago) to cancel my subscription and start again with a digital one.

Now I don't have to do that and I'll stay as a subscriber to join the club.

Well done for making a positive out of this situation.

Out of interest, how will the free landings thing work?
Will it still be necessary to send an email request for them? Or will members get them automatically somehow?

The one time that I did the email thing, it took me a while to convince the airfield concerned that they were a genuine thing. He reluctantly let me use the voucher in the end, but it was clear that he thought I had just photo copied them and knew nothing about the email option.

Hi CF

Members of The Flyer Club will receive an email from us every four weeks (there's thirteen issues a year), that email will contain personalised Free Landing Fee vouchers for their use. The free downloadable magazine will not contain the landing fee vouchers.

To be honest, I should have figured out that system for digital subscribers ages ago, I'm a bit annoyed with myself that I didn't.

Thanks

Ian

I will miss the magazine lurking on the kitchen table for me to peruse over breakfast, but I can see that things must move on and I admire the lateral thinking involved . I hope it works well for you Ian. Onwards and upwards!

I have to say I will really miss the paper magazine. I understand the current challenges of course, but while I can dip in and out of the forum I find reading anything of substance on a pc or tablet very unfulfilling. And I like my stacks of magazines :(

But I sincerely hope it is a success for you Ian and the team :thumleft:

Hi Ian
I currently subscribe through Amazon (just flyer magazine not the multi mags thing they do). As a consequence I never receive any emails from yourselves. Is it possible to receive update emails from you? Happy to keep with Amazon subscription which renewed not long ago?

Good idea and positive move in the current situation. Not to mention my wife will be pleased at having fewer magazines around!

Hang on, does this mean I wont be receiving the printed mag I've subscribed to? I got the email and it spoke of not clogging up closed branches of whsmith with unsold copies, but didn't say all printing would stop and I wont be getting the mag any more.

Yes, Amazon (I guess logically), think of you as their customer and will not supply us with your details. If you can email me your details, I will make sure that you are added to the membership database, and therefore you will receive information and personalised landing fees etc.

Thanks

Yes, sorry, Flyer will now be distributed digitally. As a subscriber you are automatically a founder member of The Flyer Club (which has things like the free landing fees and extra content).

We will obviously be happy to refund you for all remaining issues of your subscription if The Flyer Club is not for you. Although we'll be working very hard to make The Flyer Club that everyone thinks is amazing value for £2.50 a month.

Oldies find screen reading a bit odd as we've always been used to paper material in our formative years, but many find Kindle and the like appealing and I am quite willing to adapt.
