Just thought I'd highlight this consultation for those of you not in the BMAA/LAA. It only takes a few minutes to complete.
The BMAA has proposed to the CAA that any restrictions on the use of amateur built microlights within the BMAA fleet being used for flight training be removed. This would mean that a school could use an amateur built aircraft as part of its fleet in the same way that now it can use a factory built aircraft. We believe that this is a great opportunity for schools and students, many of whom are using these aircraft as part owners already.
The CAA has opened a consultation asking for opinion on our proposal. We are urging all BMAA members and especially those involved in the flight training industry to read and respond to the consultation.
The first link below will take you to the CAA consultation; the second link to the online response form.

There are 6 question options. If you support this possible change of use please answer YES to QUESTION 1.
Other questions relate to LAA aircraft and ask for comments that you may like to add to your response.
