I don't disagree. You don't want the new airframe and new powerplant combination. The only thing is with all this hype about a new record breaking aircraft is that it does not mention in any of the articles that it is an 'off the shelf' kit with an electric motor up front.

I've never understood this obsession in the UK with records, it creates interesting machines which are about as much use as a chocolate kettle. What we need is a practical electric transport aircraft, boring but they tend to make money rather than consume it.
