I haven't seen any mention yet on the forum itself, but Giles has been many months in the prep for this run to Cape Town from his strip in East Anglia - he's routing down the right hand (as we navigators call the East) side of Africa, he's been in Ethiopia for a little while, not sure why.

Interesting read, even a bit of jeopardy included.

He needed a certificate and some empty cans to prove he had fumigated the RV for mosquitos before arriving in Africa. He included a photo of a couple of French cans of anti-bed bug spray. Some posts later he mentioned that his certificate and empty cans were all in order.

Phew!

(Or it is that RV's are prone to bedbugs?)

Just heard from him - turns out his apparently long pause in Ethiopia was all about visiting one of his supported charities, Farm Africa, then a bit of poor weather.
