How do you support the planning and execution of a VFR flight?

There is clearly a lack of confidence in some quarters in the proportionality and practicality of the response to infringements. Those of us who have transgressed (thankfully with minimal impact) have received letters which are not exactly friendly or courteous and may have been subjected to on line briefing and test which wasn't very good or more recently a course which has attracted praise from an attendee and opprobrium from others.

The fact that tests and courses have been produced suggest that someone is working on this (and perhaps not as well as we would like) behind the scenes. Would it be possible to arrange a safety conference where the key representative bodies, the authorities and possibly "lay" pilots could debate the issues and come up with a sensible way forward?
