Hi All,

So the yarn continues,

So as posted two years ago this all started like this.

Image

So time has passed and we are now here.

Canopy and cowls done.

Engine in.

The back bit attached. Wings are finished and ready.

I've even added a few wires and pipes.

So now as I enter the 3rd year, the prop needs fitting and there is a lot of faffing about with the rear perspex, finally filling/sanding and generally getting the 12 ready to start the engine for the first time and generally prepare for flight.

Merry Christmas everone!!

So here we are with another update.

2 years on and the engine is up and running along with the avionics, There is a bit of tweaking to be done here and there. For those that are interested I'm looking for it to be airborne at Easter, subject to no disasters etc.
I've got to put in the rear window/ finish the canopy and run through the long list of checks but thats about it.

As soon as the test flying is over it's off to the spray shop and then that's that.

Yep one,

Back up fuel gauge.

You owe me a cup of coffee and possibly a new keyboard! :D

But I thought that you at least need a mechanical altimeter, airspeed, compass?
Or has all that been thrown out? (with the bathwater)

Hi Rob,

Thats so last millenium!

I've taken the pitot and static through to the G5, so that takes care of Alt and airspeed. It also takes magnetic heading via a canbus from the magnetometer, if that should fail too it will give you a GPS derived track from its internal receiver.
If your power goes then it has a 4 hour back up battery.

Its Christmas eve, possibly something stronger to ruin your keyboard?

Well it's been a while so I thought I'd give you all a bit of an update.

So excluding the paint works to the externals G-NCLA was completed and move to Rochester by road just before Easter.

Image

This took a couple of trip as the wings came seperatly.

Once there the final inspection was carried out and the aircraft was weighed.

787lbs empty.

So finally fitting the seats and various other bits and pieces we were there.

Then there was the big moment. 1st June 2022

So with that done I'm just finishing off the test flying, permit then paint.

So my next post will probably be the last and close this thread.

Unless of course anyone has any questions?

G-JWTP.

PS Thanks for staying awake at the back!
