When I was working for Caledonian [sic] there, Air Ulster had a daily scheduled service between there and Belfast, with DC-3s :) ISTR it was mixed passenger and freight, to connect with the Air Canada, PanAm and BOAC schedules to Canada/US. It was a long time ago .. :wink:

Emerald Airways was doing the same in '67 using EI-APJ and G-AMWV. Air traffickers would get the old gash ride via Scottish Express, the handling agent. Turn-round was about 15-20 minutes.

That was PH-PBY, the Lelystad Catalina, sadly sold to an American museum as the best efforts of the Dutch CAA succeded in making continued operation impossible leaving only the Dutch Dakota Association carrying passengers and they are under stress.

Looks like it's not just in UK where gold plating is a problem :(
