My brother can now get a pilot validation using the Canadian Class III medical, which is stated by TC as equivalent to EASA Class II.

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has been in direct contact with Transport Canada’s Civil Aviation Medicine team. Based on the information that they have provide, the CAA is now confident to permit an individual to operate on the basis of a 28 Days Declaration scheme, with a Canadian Class 3 Medical, Day VFR only within UK airspace, as we are assured that it will not impact on safety.
