Charles, yes, that's the plan - and it'd be a pleasure! I was contemplating Laddingford, how would that work for you?

Perfect. What time are you aiming for?

That's fine. "late afternoon" is accurate enough in my book!

Cloudmistrainfogmurk on the S Downs at the moment. May be the tail end of the front. Won't be able to depart without improvement :(

If you can't get there, we may have the same issues. I think things are meant to improve through the afternoon!

It's getting brighter!

My goodness, I've turned into an optimist!

Ross

Presume you have local contacts near Laddingford but if you are in need of a lift from there to somewhere else local, I'm not too far away with a car, if needed.

Also wondering if you have any plans to drop in at Headcorn for fuel etc while you are local?

Guess everything weather dependent at the mo. Looking out of the window in Tunbridge Wells it's not great and Headcorn are estimating cloudbase at 1,000 feet.

Josh, re https://forums.flyer.co.uk/viewtopic.php?p=1692163#p1692163 thanks for that picture of west Greenland. It reminds me of the many sunrises I've watched over the mountains by Itilleq when living in Sisimiut. Here is an annotated version.

Amerloq Fjord was visited during an expedition to re-establish contact with early Norse settlers by the English explorer James Hall or Jakob Hall as known to the Danes who financed him. He took some natives captive on a visit in 1605 and during a subsequent visit in July 1612, accompanied by William Baffin on an expedition to find the Northwest Passage, he was murdered by relatives of the kidnapped. There's now a rather unexciting rock named in Hall's honour just outside Sisimiut harbour. A few miles into that fjord is the abandoned cod fishing settlement of Assaqutaq. Some photos I took of it are here.

Some photographs looking towards your vantage point from Sisimiut are 1, 2, 3, and 4.

I had local transport as it's the closest field to my family, thanks! It would certainly be great to meet while around. Trying to put something together with TkF and Lefty too, maybe we can have a low key meet up next weekend.

Got there just in time, pressed the video button on the camera, everything perfectly framed large dot getting bigger, strobes landing lights, full frame of landing etc etc.

But still the bl**dy thing didn't record.

Hey ho.

Great to meet Ross, and Mum and Dad too.
